Educators have a broad knowledge base and understand the subject areas they teach.
In all of my practicums I have been expected to know and teach a variety of different subjects at different grade levels in ways that engage, challenge and interest the students. To do so I made sure that I brushed up on my knowledge in the areas which I would be teaching and had multiple ways of engaging and explaining concepts to the students so that I was prepared to disseminate the knowledge in ways that all of the students understood the concepts being taught. From Math to English, PE to Art, I was observed and taught lessons in all subject areas of the BC curriculum to my students in meaningful and understandable ways.
