Collaboration with Sally Song

Today we were graced with the presence of the lovely Sally Song, who wanted to teach us all about collaboration!

An advocate of Office 365, she uses it to get her students to jive!

Together they work, collaborate and share, so no-one is caught unaware.

Of assignments to finish, projects to do, they can all work together to input their views!

Gone are the days of having to work in the same room, I can attest getting everyone together can put a project to doom.

Instead we can work from our own space, and get done our parts at our own pace.

The students who use this really do enjoy, this aspect of tech, when properly employed.

But, Sally warns, don’t do it all, overuse of technology can lead to downfall.

After all, it won’t replace your brain, and too much can drive you insane.

But used in moderation it does have it’s perks, and you can really put it to work.

So one last thing she wanted us to mind, a useful connection app called Remind!

It allows you to keep in touch with students, send out their schedules, directly to parents!

Best of all its a one-way app, so those same parents can not text you back!

All in all it was a wonderful class, with many new tools we sure had a blast!

  • I agree that working together is such a useful skill and that collaboration is even more possible with technology.

  • I like that you (and Sally) touch on the overuse of technology. I agree that it has to be used in moderation within a classroom.
