Educators act ethically and maintain the integrity, credibility and reputation of the profession.
I always try to conduct myself in such a manner that no matter who I meet they are left with a positive impression of me. Regardless of whether or not I am in the classroom I act in such a way that I feel that I am a good role model for anyone around me.
As educators we will have a much larger impact on future generations than most people and it is up to us to ensure that we leave a positive lasting impression on the next generation so that they may create a better world when they inherit it.
As such I never engage in behaviour that may be considered unethical or disreputable, and I avoid talking in ways that could construe others in a negative light. As teachers, we must be respectful of all people, whether we like them or not.
I also try to keep my myself engaged in a balanced lifestyle in such a way that I am physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually healthy. It is hard to be your best self, the role model you want to be, if one of your aspects of self is in an imbalance. In choosing to keep myself healthy I can model that for others to inspire them to be their best selves as well.
